Iowa high school football: Here are the third round pairings and quarterfinal pods for the 2020 playoffs

Welcome to the Sweet 16.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the third-round pairings for the 2020 high school football playoffs on Saturday, which consists of four more four-team pods in each class.

In doing so, it also revealed the quarterfinal pods. Much like the last two weeks, the winners of each pod’s third-round game — which are all set for Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. — will play each other in the quarterfinal round, set for Nov. 6.

Those winners will go to the semifinals at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. The final four teams will be re-paired by the IHSAA before the semifinal games.

Check out each third-round pairing below. Rankings are from the Des Moines Register’s final 2020 rankings. Click here for results from every second-round game.
